This was very similar to our project in Wellington Zoo (2118). Each door was custom-engineered to meet the specific operational and safety requirements of the zoo. We used corrosion-resistant steel, precision-engineered seals, and durable hardware to ensure long-term performance under heavy daily use. Our team coordinated closely with Auckland Zoo staff throughout the installation to minimise disruption, and each door was rigorously tested to meet strict safety standards (2118).

This was very similar to our project for Whangarei Central Police Station (3185F). These steel systems are designed to form a hardened barrier within secure areas, using reinforced construction. The strength and detailing of the joinery help resist impact and tampering, while integrated locking and framing systems ensure secure operation under constant use in a policing environment.

The new pivot doors were developed for the extension to sit respectfully within the cathedral’s existing character, providing a strong yet understated entry solution that aligns with the scale and tone of the building.

The façade forms a strong architectural frontage to a prominent Takapuna site, combining large-scale glazing with operable steel door systems from Steelguard to support both access and visual openness across three levels. The result is a cohesive, highly transparent street-facing elevation that connects the building to its coastal urban setting.
